Y5 Photography Workshop

Y5 enjoyed a photography workshop with Miss Unwin from RCS. They worked on their understanding of tone, light, and pattern during the session. Fabulous work Y5. We can't wait to see the final photos!
Year 5 and 6 Footballers Represent Ashwood
November 25th, 2021
Year 5 and 6 footballers represented Ashwood at the Rotherham game last weekend. They played on the pitch at half time and represented Ashwood fantastically, showing the Ashwood Way at all times. It was a fabulous experience and we are so proud of them all. Well done!

Gymnastics Competition

Children had an excellent time at a gymnastics competition. They have worked incredibly hard to learn a routine which they had to perform in front of judges. Climbing Wall!

Year five recently travelled to Cranworth Campus to use their new climbing wall. They were completely awesome and showed their amazing climbing skills to the max!
E-Safety Session
November 22nd, 2019
Class 5 have recently had an e-safety session looking at appropriate age related games and apps. They also discussed what they should do to keep them safe online and the impact that gaming can have on sleep and behaviour.
Art
November 4th, 2019
As artists, we have studied the work of Yorkshire artist Glen Williams and used his industrial landscapes to inspire our work. We used watercolour paint to create a wash background and then experimented with a range of media to decide on how to create our impressions of Caphouse Colliery.
Coal Mining Museum
November 4th, 2019
Class 5 thoroughly enjoyed their trip to the National Coal Mining Museum. We got to spend time down a real mine and learn about how Mining in South Yorkshire has changed over time. We even got to meet the pit ponies!
We Are Scientists!
November 4th, 2019
As scientists and designers, class 5 have been investigating how levers and pulleys work and how they help move something with a smaller amount of force. Soon we will be making our own mine shafts with working lifts!
