Headteacher Round Up – Week 4, Summer 1
This week again has been a busy one. The children have all learnt a song from a decade from Queen Elizabeth’s reign. We have had some very excited children singing their hearts out for our Jubilee celebration. It is lovely when we can do things as a school family and see the children building relationships with others from other year groups. Singing assembly was an absolute delight this week and myself and Mrs Richardson are super proud to be part of that.
This week we had a visit from Rawmarsh library who visited each class to talk about the library can offer. We will be doing some visits as classes to the library next school year to take part in workshops about different texts.
I want to give a special Headteacher’s shout out this week to….
F1 – The children have made amazing clay spiders built out of clay. They moulded and shaped them very creatively.
F2 – Great team work on the EYFS trim trail. It is lovely to see you all help each other and show kindness towards others.
Class 1 – For great resilience in PE. It is great to see you all active and working as a team. Even when you found things tricky you tried again.
Class 2 – For amazing behaviour as always on the Scarborough visit and showing great geographical skills for our theme on the coast.
Class 3 – For really thinking about whether sources could be reliable as part of their history lessons. I loved teaching you about ancient Greece this week. We used different sources to find out information and be real historians.
Class 4 –For really in depth PSHE work thinking about how words and actions can influence others. I loved your Guinness world record attempt as well as part of your times tables work!
Class 5 – For working really hard on your online French lessons. You are really starting to develop your understanding of French. Keep up the good work.
Class 6 – Great work as part of your writing learning journey. It was lovely to see how you were using dictionaries to clarify word meanings and really think about the Spelling Punctuation and Grammar you had been taught. You also posed for some amazing photos for your year book. I cannot wait to see it!!!
Keep shining Ashwood!
Love Miss Roper
