Year 4 take part in British Science Week!

For British Science Week, we have been Seismologists. We created our own seismographs and captured various movements using these. We found out how these are used in the world today and how vital they can be within the study of natural disasters.

Y3 are Entomologists!

Y3 have been busy being creating their own wormery in small groups as part of British science week. The children have loved creating eco systems for their worms to live.

FS2 Learn about Solar Panels with Genfit ☀

It’s been very exciting at Ashwood whilst solar panels have been fitted to our roof.  The builders were fantastic and demonstrated how they use a telehandler to lift the panels onto the roof. We were able to explore the panels up close and best of all sit inside the telehandler!

A great time was had by all! […]

Mega Maths Learning

As part of our Maths learning, we’ve been exploring counting large amounts which cannot be moved. To practice this skill we decided to conduct a vote – ‘Which story would you like for storytime?’ We practised using a tally, writing the numerals and identifying the winner.

Superworm Task!

To complete our Superworm learning we made our very own Superworm cuddly toys! We talked about the resources we would need how to make the toy cuddly and what we needed to decorate our worms.  We were super proud of how well these turned out! 🤩

World Book Day Boogie!

At lunch times we dance with Miss Roper in dance club on the yard. This week was particularly exciting because we dressed up as our favourite book characters to join in with the dancing on World Book Day. We had some groovy moves! 🤩📚🕺 #wearealwayslearning

The Colour Monster

This week, the children have been learning all about The Colour Monster. The children made colour monsters in the playdough, acted out and named emotions in the small world and practiced mixing colours to show feelings. The children also enjoyed looking in mirrors and painting their own faces to show how they were feeling.
