World Book Day 2025

On Thursday 6th March, the children at Rawmarsh Ashwood celebrated World Book Day! Some classes also looked at the Author, Philip Pullman. Last term, studied his novel, ‘The Firework Maker’s Daughter’. Everyone enjoyed it so much, and are now reading ‘I Was a Rat’ as a class book for pleasure. They researched information on him to create fact files, then had a go at recreating his front covers in pencil and watercolours. Everyone was also lucky enough to watch an adapted version performed by a small theatre company online.

It was a fantastic day, interspersed with lots of reading, and fun World Book Day activities!
