FS2 have been working really hard over the last few weeks, focusing on the composition of numbers 1-3. They’ve impressed everyone by not only mastering these but also challenging themselves to explore number compositions all the way up to 5!
The children have been learning to use number sentences to explain their thinking, proudly saying things like, “3 is made of 2 and 1. 2 and 1 make 3!” This has encouraged them to begin creating their own number sentences independently, showing a growing confidence in their understanding of how numbers can be made in different ways.
It’s been wonderful to see them applying this knowledge during their continuous provision, using practical activities and resources to explore number compositions in creative ways. Well done, FS2!
