Ashwood was delighted to welcome author Struan Murray for an inspiring online visit as part of Libraries for Primaries. During the session, Struan shared fascinating insights into his writing process, explaining how inspiration for stories can come from anywhere. Pupils particularly enjoyed learning about his doodling process and how sketching helps him develop ideas and overcome challenges when writing. It was a valuable reminder that creativity takes time and that great ideas often grow through perseverance.
The children also loved hearing about some of his books, including Orphans of the Tide, Shipwreck Island, and Mermedusa, which sparked plenty of excitement and curiosity. It was a fantastic opportunity that encouraged pupils to use their imagination, embrace creativity, and enjoy the journey of reading and writing. A huge thank you to Struan for such an engaging and inspiring visit!
