Last week, we were delighted to welcome the fantastic team from Sam’s Army to Rawmarsh Ashwood Primary for an engaging and important water safety assembly. With the summer holidays approaching, the children learned valuable advice to help keep themselves safe around open water, including how to recognise warning signs, the importance of staying with a trusted adult, what to do if they ever get into difficulty in the water, and how to call 999 in an emergency.
Water safety is also an important part of our PSHE curriculum, helping to reinforce these vital messages throughout the year. A huge thank you to Sam’s Army for delivering such an informative session and helping to keep our school community safe. We encourage parents and carers to ask their children what they learned and continue the conversation at home.
