Class 4 had a fantastic afternoon when the WPT Catering Team visited Rawmarsh Ashwood Primary to deliver a hands-on popcorn-making session as part of our work on healthy eating and making balanced choices.
The children learned how popcorn can be a fun and healthy snack when prepared the right way – using minimal oil and natural flavourings instead of sugar or salt. They were fascinated to see how simple corn kernels transformed into fluffy popcorn and talked about the science behind the process.
As part of our PSHE and Science curriculum, pupils discussed the importance of eating in moderation and how treats can still be enjoyed as part of a balanced diet. The session helped children to understand that healthy eating isn’t about giving things up, but about making informed, sensible choices about what and how much we eat.
Class 4 thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
A huge thank you to WPT Catering for delivering such an engaging and educational workshop!
