This week, our wonderful Y2 pupils from Rawmarsh Ashwood Primary School had the privilege of attending a beautiful Christingle service at The High Street Centre in Rawmarsh.
It was a truly special and memorable occasion, filled with warmth and reflection as the children learned about the meaning behind each part of the Christingle:
- The orange, representing the world
- The red ribbon, symbolising the blood of Jesus
- The four sticks or sweets, representing the four seasons or the four corners of the earth
- The lit candle, symbolising Christ as the light of the world
The children listened with great respect and were fascinated by the symbolism behind this tradition. It was a wonderful opportunity to come together and celebrate the season at the heart of our community.
A huge thank you to everyone at The High Street Centre for their kind invitation and for hosting such a meaningful service. We are truly grateful for the chance to take part.
