A Fond Farewell to Our Chair of Governors

Today, we share a special message of gratitude to Helen Walker, who is stepping down after seven years of incredible service as a Governor at Rawmarsh Ashwood Primary, including her exceptional leadership as our Chair of Governors.

Helen has been so much more than a leader behind the scenes. She has been a familiar face in our corridors, regularly visiting school to listen to our students and ensure that “pupil voice” remained at the heart of our decisions.

Our students were also incredibly lucky to hear Helen speak about her own career at Sheffield University, providing them with real-world inspiration and showing them the many paths their education can take.

Over her tenure, Helen has:

  • Led with Vision: Guided us through successful Ofsted inspections and curriculum growth.

  • Empowered Students: Prioritised hearing directly from the children about their school experience.

  • Provided Stability: Offered a calm, balanced hand through every challenge and celebration.

Helen, your passion has helped create an environment where our children can truly thrive. You will always be a valued member of the Rawmarsh Ashwood family.

Thank you for everything!

Please join us in wishing Helen the very best for her future endeavors.
