Playgrounds are often full of noise, movement, and excitement, but everyone needs a calm place to pause and catch their breath. Our Eco Warriors have proudly unveiled a new Sensory Quiet Space, creating a peaceful area for pupils to relax and recharge.
Why a Quiet Space Garden?
During a busy school day, the transition from the classroom to the playground can sometimes feel overwhelming. This new space offers a calm and supportive environment where pupils can enjoy a moment of quiet.
Mindfulness in nature: The gentle scent of plants like mint and the movement of grasses help create a relaxing atmosphere.
Inclusive play: It provides a peaceful option for pupils who prefer a quieter environment rather than high-energy games.
Nature and wellbeing: Spending even a few minutes surrounded by greenery can help boost mood, reduce stress, and improve focus for the rest of the day.
The Golden Rules of the Garden
To help keep this special space calm and welcoming, our Eco-Warriors have set a few simple guidelines:
Keep voices low and use a “garden whisper.”
Be gentle with the plants so they can continue to grow and thrive.
Leave no trace and help keep the space tidy and litter-free.
This wonderful new area will help support wellbeing, mindfulness, and a love of nature across the school. Well done to our Eco Warriors for creating such a thoughtful and calming space!
