On Thursday 22nd May, Rawmarsh Ashwood took part in the Children’s Capital of Culture and Rotherham School Games Baton Relay. The children at Ashwood joined other schools in the area to run the Rawmarsh leg of the race. Students from Rawmarsh Community School were welcomed onto the playground of Rawmarsh Ashwood through a guard of honour, as the students passed on the baton to the primary children.
Representatives of Rawmarsh Ashwood were cheered at the end of their leg, as they ran up to hand over the baton to Rawmarsh Health Centre, which marked the end of the Rawmarsh leg. Well done to everyone who took part!
Rawmarsh Ashwood will also be taking part in the Movement Festival, as part of Rotherham Children’s Capital of Culture. Watch this space to find out more.
