Disco Time with Miss Roper!

At Ashwood, we believe that learning doesn’t just happen in the classroom – it happens in every part of school life. One of the highlights of the week is our lunchtime disco with Miss Roper, our Headteacher. The children loved choosing their favourite songs, dancing with friends, and celebrating together in a fun and positive environment.

But this is about more than just music and dancing – it’s an important part of The Ashwood Way. Our discos give children the chance to:

  • Build confidence and self-esteem
  • Develop positive friendships
  • Show respect and kindness to others
  • Celebrate teamwork and a sense of belonging

These moments are also a great example of the WPT Enrichment Promise in action, as they give every child the opportunity to try something new, develop life skills, and experience activities that go beyond the classroom.

Together, these opportunities support our children’s personal development, encouraging them to express themselves and grow in confidence. Most importantly, they leave hall smiling, ready to carry that positivity back into their learning.

At Ashwood, we are proud to create a school where every child feels valued, included, and able to shine – whether that’s in the classroom, on the playground, or out on the dancefloor!
