Maths in Y1

Our Year 1 pupils have been busy developing their understanding of numbers through an exciting part-whole lesson this week. Using practical resources such as counters, cubes, and number bonds, the children explored how numbers can be split into parts and put back together to make a whole.

Through hands-on activities, teamwork, and lots of mathematical talk, the class began to see the different ways numbers connect and relate to one another. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm as they built number stories and shared their discoveries with friends.

Well done, Year 1!
