Year 3 are turning into Math Rock Stars! There is a serious buzz in Year 3 this term as our pupils master their multiplication through TTRockStars! From battling it out in the Arena to climbing the Soundcheck Charts, our students are building the speed and confidence they need to tackle complex math with ease.
Pupils are focusing on the 3, 4, and 8 times tables, and the progress has been incredible. Seeing the resilience and “can-do” attitude of our young mathematicians is what it’s all about!
This week a special shout out goes out to Zoe and Daniel who received a special Headteacher certificate from Miss Roper.
Help Your Child Become a Rock Legend!
Year 3 are doing a fantastic job mastering their times tables in school, but the secret to becoming a Rock Legend is little and often practice at home.
You don’t need to spend hours – just 3 to 5 minutes a day makes a world of difference. Here is how you can support your budding rock star:
The “Power 3” Routine
- Consistency is Key: Aim for 5 sessions a week. Even a quick game while waiting for tea or sitting in the car helps build muscle memory.
- Focus on the Heatmap: Log in with your child and look at their Heatmap – green means they are fast – red/orange are the ones to target!
- Celebrate the Effort: High scores are great, but earning coins to upgrade their avatar is a huge motivator. Ask them: “How many coins did you earn today?”
