Winter Book Event
What a fabulous turnout to our winter book event where 111 of our children returned back to school in their PJs and dressing gowns ready to settle down with their chosen story being read to them and a hot chocolate! Each class has its own reading incentive to read at home. Ask your child about what they are working on in their reading. Keep up the good work at reading at home. There are more and more children who are taking on the challenge to read more at home. Well done!
Hockey
Our Y5/6 girls and Y5/6 boys were amazing in the School sports games and hockey tournaments. It was commented on how much they were team players and how they were following the Ashwood way and were amazing role models for the school.
Football
The Y5/6 footballers are through to the semi-final which will be played in February! We are so proud of their achievements. Their skills are really developing as a team.
Assessments
Next week is assessment week where the children will be completing their assessments in phonics, reading, writing, and maths in order to inform teaching and learning in the spring term. We know that the children are all trying their hardest. Keep this up, Ashwood!
DT
Y6 are starting their DT and STEM TEKK challenge, working with staff from HSBC bank to support them in this. All year groups will be taking part in their DT challenge which this term will focus on textiles. Each class will have a project to complete.
Parent Consultations
Thank you to all of the parents/carers who attended parental consultations. We will do a mix of online and face-to-face consultations throughout the year. We would love you to come and see some of the work the children are doing for the next parent consultations.
Ask your child about The Ashwood way and how it helps them to be better learners or better citizens.
Thank you for your continued support.
