Mrs Walker
Meet your teacher
Mrs Walker
Hello, My name is Mrs Walker and I am your Y4 teacher. I enjoy reading with my class; I like to share a story from start to finish and discuss how the plot develops. I also read a lot in my spare time too so please come and share some of the books you are reading at home! I also enjoy art and trying to recreate famous pieces.

Class Information
Welcome to our classroom! We use ClassDojo to keep parents regularly updated with important information, upcoming events, and what’s happening in the classroom, so please make sure you’re signed up to stay informed. Good attendance is crucial for your child’s learning and development. Being in school every day helps children build strong routines, keep up with lessons, and reach their full potential. We kindly ask for your support in encouraging excellent attendance. Homework and weekly spellings will be sent home each week to reinforce classroom learning. Please help your child to complete these tasks on time and review their spellings regularly. We look forward to a successful and exciting year of learning together!
Areas of Learning
Our curriculum, this year, has been carefully planned to ensure that it is exciting and prgresses childrens’ learning. It allows us to travel back in time during history lessons to see what life was like in the past, explore countries and cultures in geography as well as developing our understanding in different beliefs in religious education. In computing, we improve our digital skills by learning coding and internet safety. We master times tables in order to prepare for our important times tables tests and apply these to a range of other mathematical concepts to ensure that we become confident mathematicians. Through reading, we dive into several stimulating books that spark imagination and curiosity, which also help us with our writing as it allows us to express our ideas creatively, crafting mind-blowing stories and information texts. Altogether, the curriculum helps us grow into knowledgeable, curious, and capable learners ready for the future.
