Amazing Ashwood Musicians!

At Ashwood we have a love of music. Many of our children are learning a musical instrument. This year some of our children were finalists in the WPT young musician of the year and performed at RCS!

KS1 Vocal/Instrumental finalists were:-
  • Flynn Morgan –  Piano
  • Doris Luhanga –  Piano
  • Jiafu He Ashwood – Piano
KS2 instrumentalist finalist:-
  • Alfie Price – Clarinet
This experience went towards the children achieving part of their silver pledge for taking part in a musical event.

The children who are learning a musical instrument mentor other children in school to pass their skills on to others. They even play in assembly so children across the whole school hear live music played.

The children in Y5/Y6 have also taken part in African drumming workshops to learn about rhythm. They worked individually and collaboratively to perform to parents!

Children through school are also having broadening horizons music workshops with WPT music department.
