FS1 Working Together

The children in F1 have been learning to sing ‘The Wheels on the Bus’. We learned how to perform this using Makaton and practiced building our own busses to transport us to different destinations in our play. The children had to work as a team and use their communication skills to make sure that the bus was the right size.

We also learned about our painting routine and used this to paint our own busses. We had to think carefully about the shapes that we needed to use on the page.

Later in the week, we had to take advantage of the rain at Ashwood Primary School. This was the perfect opportunity to dig for worms in our mud kitchen. We used gross motor skills to dig up the soil and then we used our maths knowledge to count the worms that we found. We talked about the different lengths of the worms and used some super language to describe them.
