What a brilliant finish to 2023!
The children have all worked so hard at Ashwood this term and they truly are a credit to our families.
The children did amazing in the Christmas performances and carols. This included this year Y2-Y4 joining in with the Christingle service at the High Street centre and making their own Christingles.
Year 6 have completed their TEKK challenge, working with HSBC bank in developing a range of different skills and working together in teams.
Phonics 🗣
Children in F2, Y1 and Y2 continue to make great progress in their phonics work. Keep up the good
work! Go on your Phonics bug club account at home to keep practising blending.
Panto Time 🎭
The children enjoyed the panto Robin Hood in school where the whole school were the audience,
joining in with the cheering, dancing and booing of the villains. Children in Y4 also visited Wickersley
School and Sports college for a special performance of a pantomime with the Wickersley students as
the stars!
What is coming up in 2024 for Ashwood…📅
- A big welcome in the year to Miss Askey our new SMSA and Mr Aysough our new school
caretaker who join us after Christmas and join our Ashwood school family - Ashwood continue their journey with working in partnership with Genuine Partnerships for
Rotherham Charter Gold accreditation - Sporting events will continue in the new year with our work with School Sports Games. This includes Y5/Y6 climbing event at the climbing wall
- Scarborough residential meeting for parents – date to be confirmed
- 1st February INSET day
