Throughout the Autumn Term, FS2 have been working towards a beautiful final art piece, building upon all the skills they have used this term. They began way back in September, exploring the artwork of Kadinsky and Alma Thomas, two abstract artists that used vibrant colours, patterns, and shapes, especially circles using paint, charcoal, and oil pastels. The children then used these art skills to make Rangoli patterns to celebrate Diwali in October. Again, Rangoli patterns focus on colour, pattern, and repeating shapes, often a circular pattern.
Finally, we have used all these skills when exploring the artwork of James Brunt who local land artist. He uses natural treasures found outside, to create beautiful pieces. Everyone was inspired and used their own natural treasures. The children’s artwork has been made into calendars to give as gifts to our families. They are so amazing, and even better than the calendars you would find in the shop.
Well done FS2!
