This week, Y5 were given the incredible opportunity to take part in a STEM session, which was delivered by a member of staff from the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre of Sheffield University. First, the children learned about the many job opportunities in engineering, and discussed famous engineers throughout history.
They then identified different pieces of technology that have been designed and maintained by engineers, and everyone enjoyed asking questions about how this is used in schools, hospitals, houses, transport, and the environment! Finally, Y5 used 3D pens to craft their very own creations, working really hard to ensure they would be strong structures.
Amazing work, well done!
