Eco Warriors
At Rawmarsh Ashwood Primary, we are proud to have our very own team of Eco Warriors who are helping to make a real difference to our planet. Their work links closely to the WPT sustainability objectives, which focus on reducing energy use, protecting our environment, and encouraging everyone to make greener choices.
One of the exciting programmes we are part of is Energy Sparks. This helps us track how much energy our school is using and shows us ways we can save electricity and gas. Our Eco Warriors remind classes to switch off lights, projectors and computers when they are not in use and to shut doors to keep the heat in during the colder months. Small changes like these all add up to a big difference!
Our Eco Warriors are also passionate about looking after our school environment. They encourage everyone to recycle, reduce waste at lunch and playtimes, and keep our playground and field litter-free. By planting flowers, looking after our green spaces and caring for wildlife, they are showing how important it is to value and protect nature.
Through their leadership, the Eco Warriors are helping our whole school community understand that sustainability is about making choices today that protect tomorrow. Their efforts mean that Ashwood pupils are not just learning about the environment – they are taking action to protect it.
Together, we are proud to be playing our part in making our schools and communities more sustainable, now and for the future.
