Recently, FS2 have been working super hard in Maths. They have been paying close attention to the step pattern numbers make, when one more is added. The number blocks are fantastic to demonstrate this number pattern of one more.
The children even wanted to make their very own number blocks to assist them in this activity! To do this, they began to work in teams to make pictures of the number blocks, ensuring one more was added each time. They then began to write the numerals to match with the corresponding numberblocks. This activity was loved by the whole class, and many of the children have returned to do this activity on other days, showing an attention to detail and love for numbers.
